KJ Jefferson is one of the top players in the transfer portal and a veteran SEC starter. The former Arkansas QB entered the portal after a few frustrating years with the Razorbacks, highlighted by a stellar 2023 campaign.

And according to On3Sports’ Pete Nakos, a Big 12 program has emerged as a team to watch for the veteran QB: UCF.

Jefferson would be a very interesting addition for the Knights, which just recently joined the Power 5 ranks in the Big 12 alongside BYU, Cincinnati and Houston.

Gus Malahn’s offense has played well under SEC and Ole Miss transfer John Rhys Plumlee, who will be moving on from college football following this season.

The Knights were better known for their defense this season but had a strong passing game as well. UCF averaged 278 passing yards per game, which ranked 6th in the conference this past season.

2024 will be Jefferson’s final season of eligibility. Across his 5 years in Fayetteville Jefferson has accumulated 7,923 passing yards with 67 passing touchdowns and 18 interceptions, also adding 21 rushing touchdowns.
