Connor Noland showed off some classic toughness in the seventh inning on Friday against Grand Canyon.

The Arkansas pitcher absorbed 2 batted balls that caromed off his body, and Noland avoided any trouble to preserve a big lead for the Razorbacks in the Stillwater Regional. Through 7 innings, Noland allowed just 1 run on 6 hits with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts.

One of the comebackers reached on the play, and Noland walked another batter in the seventh, but escaped any further damage and kept Grand Canyon from adding on the scoreboard.

At the plate for Arkansas, catcher Michael Turner started the game 3-for-3 with 3 RBIs and a walk. Cayden Wallace added a 2-for-3 day with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored.

Arkansas led 7-1 when Noland left after 7 innings.

This is a familiar site for the Arkansas program.

Arkansas is on the road in the postseason for the first time since the 2015 campaign, when the Razorbacks also traveled to Stillwater that year for an NCAA Regional before they punched their ticket to their eighth College World Series appearance in program history.

The other teams in the regional are Oklahoma State and Missouri State, and they play on Friday evening. The winners of Friday’s games will play at 6 p.m. local time on Saturday, while the losers will meet at noon local time.
