Eric Musselman understands that Gonzaga’s strength is transition basketball, and the Arkansas coach went as far as saying the Bulldogs are the best transition team his players will ever see.
“So if we have guys out there that can’t point and pick and find people, you’re not going to be able to play in this game,” Musselman said.
In a behind-the-scenes video shared by the official March Madness TV account from CBS, TBS, TNT and truTV, Musselman said bluntly, “I’m not freaking going out there thinking, ‘Hey, we’re playing the No. 1 seed, we’ll just see how it goes. We are going there to win, and each guy’s got to build that belief in their head.”
Put another way, Musselman said, “I don’t want you getting on this plane tomorrow if you don’t think in your every fiber in your body thinks we’re going to win this game.”
Arkansas and Gonzaga will begin the quadruple header of Sweet 16 games on Thursday night with a 7:09 p.m. ET tipoff in San Francisco.
