Cincinnati is about to face its second straight SEC team, and ESPN analyst Greg McElroy suggested on “College Football Live” this week that Alabama offered a glimpse into a possible game plan this week for Arkansas against the Bearcats.

“I really like Arkansas this year, I think they’re going to have a ground and pound approach,” McElroy said. “Guess what, the last time we saw Cincinnati, they didn’t handle that very well. Alabama ran right down their throat time, and time, and time again in the College Football Playoff semifinal. … They were not ready for the physicality that Alabama brought to them in the trenches.”

McElroy then shared that Arkansas is built very similarly to Alabama when it comes to trying to establish the run.

“The only difference is Arkansa has a 230-pound quarterback in KJ Jefferson that also wants to contribute in the running game,” he said. “So I think it’s a very difficult matchup for Cincinnati. Arkansas doesn’t take anyone lightly, they’ll definitely be ready to go in this one.”

McElroy knows Cincinnati is trying to prove that it’s not a one-year wonder, but this will be a tall order.
