Jacob Hester’s meter on Sam Pittman’s future with Arkansas is moving towards the red.

Hester talked about Pittman Friday on Pregaming the SEC. Arkansas faces Alabama in Tuscaloosa next on the tails of a four-game losing streak. Pittman has yet to win an SEC game this season.

It’s officially time to panic about Pittman for Hester.

“The meter’s starting to get into the red. It’s past the green, past the yellow, past the orange. It’s getting into the red. Those expectations there are really high. And they’ve had a tough stretch. This is a hell of a stretch that they’ve had. To go to Baton Rouge to play a game in a neutral site. Then, having a really good Ole Miss on the road and then you’re back on the road again. You haven’t been home since Moby Dick was a minnow it feels like. I understand some of the struggles, but as you know, don’t care. You’ve done what? Don’t care. That’s just the mentality in the SEC.

Hester and Chris Doering are still fans of Pittman, but there haven’t been enough results to feel good about the Arkansas head coach. The Razorbacks are close to an 0-4 start in SEC play heading into Week 7.

“Maybe sometimes a perfect fit doesn’t become a perfect fit. It felt like it certainly, when they won nine games when they had one of the toughest schedules in the country. Man, you’re sitting there staring 0-4 right in the face in the SEC,” said Hester. “Arkansas is the only team that has not beaten Nick Saban at Alabama out of the SEC West still. You’ve got everything stacked against you. You’re running on fumes it feels like offensively, you’re a hot mess. CD I can’t get you to cover this game.”

Can Pittman find a way to turn the season around?
