KJ Jefferson is the best quarterback in the SEC to some, and the Arkansas signal caller certainly made a case for that argument early on Saturday against Western Carolina as the Hogs got off to a 28-3 lead

Jefferson started 12-for-13 for 181 yards and 2 touchdowns as the Razorbacks got off to a 21-3 lead by midway through the 1st half. Inside the numbers revealed an even more impressive start:

  • 0 incompletions
  • 2 touchdowns
  • 7 passes to different receivers
  • 9 total completions
  • 165 passing yards

He didn’t waste any time, either. Arkansas’ first TD of the season was a 65-yarder from Jefferson to Jaedon Wilson, as the Razorbacks scored on their second play from scrimmage.

Jefferson completed his first 12 passes to start Saturday’s game. He is the first Arkansas quarterback to complete their first 12 passes in a game since QB Brandon Allen went 14-for-14 to start against Texas A&M in 2015.
