Former Arkansas tight end Cheyenne O'Grady lands NFL contract
Cheyenne O’Grady is finally getting a shot to show what he can do in the NFL.
The Cincinnati Bengals just announced that the former Arkansas tight end has been signed and will be participating in the team’s upcoming rookie minicamp.
O’Grady was arguably the best player on the Arkansas team back in 2019 but was dismissed in the middle of the season.
During his appearance at the 2020 NFL Combine, O’Grady discussed his departure from the Razorback program.
“What Coach Morris came out and said wasn’t all the way true. It wasn’t a mutual agreement,” O’Grady back in February of 2020. “I was actually dismissed from the team. I decided to, very immature part of mine. After the Alabama game, kind of told the coaches, ‘I don’t really want to come. My body’s sore.’ Just lame excuses. Immature. I like to call it the old CJ. I moved past that.”
Following his dismissal at Arkansas, O’Grady was not selected in the 2020 NFL Draft and never signed with a team during the season. Because he did not play in the NFL last season, he will be listed as a rookie in 2021.
During his college career, O’Grady caught 87 passes for 967 yards and 12 touchdowns for the Razorbacks.
