Sam Pittman, following Arkansas’ 48-14 loss to Missouri, discussed an Instagram story KJ Jefferson posted prior to the game that said “Last One”.

Having redshirted as a freshman in 2019 and due to 2020 being a “bonus year” of eligibility, Jefferson could return in 2024 for a 6th year. But his 5th season, already a disappointing campaign for the Razorbacks, ended with a leg injury and him missing the bulk of Friday’s contest.

Pittman was asked about Jefferson’s IG story after the game.

“I don’t know. I really don’t. We haven’t sat down and spoke about it,” he said, according to ESPN Arkansas. “In all honesty if he put it out there, it probably means he’s had all of the college or all of the Arkansas he wants.”

Jefferson received his degree from the university in the spring. He’s been a massive part of the resurgence of Arkansas football as he helped lead the program to 9 wins in 2021 (most since 2011), a 7-6 mark in 2022, and back-to-back bowl victories.

That said, 2023 has been well short of expectations. While AD Hunter Yurachek has stated that Pittman, who is under contract through 2026, is safe for next season, the Head Hog will be tasked with finding a new offensive coordinator. It’s possible a new quarterback, whether it’s Jacolby Criswell or someone else, could be in the mix as well.
