Sam Pittman gave his latest update on junior Rocket Sanders.

Sanders suffered a knee injury during Arkansa’s 55-13 win over Western Carolina in week one. Sanders has seen limited action since the Western Carolina opener, and last played against Texas A&M and Ole Miss.

Pittman, who said on Saturday that Sanders was in rehab last week and didn’t feel like his knee was 100%, noted that he has “no idea” when his junior tailback will be back.

On Monday at Pittman’s press conference, there was still uncertainty surrounding Sanders’ return.

“I don’t know. I really don’t,” Pittman said.

One sure thing about Sanders, said Pittman, is that the junior will not play against Mississippi State this Saturday.

Pittman said the Sanders’ recovery and potential return “depends on how he feels” and the “progression of his rehab.”

Before his injury in Week 1 against the Catamounts, Sanders carried the ball 15 times for 42 yards and two touchdowns.

Last season, the Razorbacks star tailback had 1,443 rushing yards and 10 TDs on 222 carries. Sanders also had two receiving TDs.

Arkansas lost 24-21 to No. 11 Alabama this past Saturday. The Razorbacks, currently on a 5-game losing streak, dropped to 2-5 on the season.

The Razorbacks will face Mississippi State this week at noon on ESPN.
