The 2023 season has not been kind to Sam Pittman and Arkansas, and the head coach revealed some more tough news on Monday.

Pittman informed the media that running back Raheim “Rocket” Sanders tore his labrum against FIU last weekend, while fellow tailback Rashod Dubinion tore his meniscus. Dubinion underwent surgery on Monday while Sanders’ is slated for later this week.

Sanders has had an especially unlucky time with staying healthy, as he suffered a knee injury in the Razorback’s Week One victory over Western Carolina and missed multiple games. He was coming off a 2022 campaign in which he ran for 1,443 yards and 10 touchdowns. Sanders has only managed to run for 209 yards on 62 carries this season.

Dubinion has accounted for 260 yards on 82 carries, both of which are the most of any Razorback RB. Junior AJ Green and Isaiah Augustave, who played well against FIU, will likely handle the bulk of the carries for Arkansas going forward.

The Razorbacks will square off with Missouri in the annual Battle Live Rivalry game at 4:00 ET on CBS this Friday.
