Arkansas fans got some good news this Fourth of July holiday as one of the team’s highest-rated signees is officially headed to campus. The status of former junior college tight end Jeremy Patton had been in question after he failed to enroll early last winter as planned thanks to an academic situation but Tuesday he put any concerns regarding his situation to rest.

Rated as the No. 1 JUCO tight end in the nation and a four-star prospect in the 2017 recruiting cycle by 247Sports, Patton signed with the Razorbacks over offers from Alabama, Auburn, Louisville, Nebraska and USC among others.

Patton posted this message on Twitter Tuesday morning, announcing his imminent arrival to Fayetteville:

With Arkansas searching for answers at several skill positions following the departures of six of the top seven pass catchers from last season, Patton will have an opportunity to make an immediate impact on offense in 2017. While replacing former tight end Jeremy Sprinkle will be tough, and the Razorbacks have several talented players eager to step into the featured tight end role in Dan Enos’ offense, Patton’s skill level could make all the difference for an Arkansas team searching for help at the tight end position next season.

Here’s Patton’s junior college highlight reel, it should give you an idea of what the elite tight end prospect could bring to the team in the coming seasons.
