Washington State defensive coordinator Alex Grinch may be on the move, according to multiple reports that have connected him with schools in the SEC West.

ESPN analyst Brock Huard first told 710 ESPN in Seattle that Grinch is weighing multiple job offers from Texas A&M and Arkansas. But later, FootballScoop reported that the Aggies are interested in someone else, and Grinch wasn’t offered the job.

Grinch just finished his third season as Wazzu’s defensive coordinator, and he also coaches the secondary.

Using USA TODAY’s salary database, the Seattle Times reported that Grinch’s $600,000 salary ranks him at No. 10 among the 90 on-field assistant coaches employed by the Pac-12’s public institutions in 2017, but the Cougars’ total assistant coaching salary pool falls toward the bottom of the conference.

The Cougars were second in the Pac-12 in total defense this season, but were first in pass defense and fourth in run defense and scoring defense.
