Auburn has released a statement after a video surfaced that allegedly shows running back Jarquez Hunter involved in a sex act.

Multiple indefinite suspensions have been handed out.

“We are aware of the situation and take this matter very seriously,” the statement read. “The appropriate office are conducting a thorough review. Indefinite suspensions have been issued for violation of applicable Auburn Athletics department policy. No further comment will be provided at this time.”

Hunter is expected to be a key player for Auburn this season as he takes over a role from Tank Bigsby after Hunter rushed for 675 yards, and 7 touchdowns last season. As a freshman in 2021, he rushed for 593 yards and 3 touchdowns while averaging 6.7 yards per carry and less than 7 carries per game.

Hunter had a strong spring and coach Hugh Freeze even said he was “probably the best running back I’ve ever coached.”

Hunter has 1,269 career rushing yards, 10 career rush TD and ranks 41st among Auburn career rushers.
