Even Auburn’s coaching staff didn’t see this coming from Anthony Schwartz.

The true freshman has already cemented himself as a threat for the Tigers despite competing internationally in track throughout the summer. A speedster thanks to his track chops, Schwartz has already been exceeding expectations as part of both the passing and rushing attack

“He came in late with all the track stuff, so I think for me he’s been a huge surprise,” Auburn offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey told AL.com. “He’s a more polished receiver than I gave him credit for.”

Schwartz leads the team with 163 receiving yards on eight catches and has one of the Tigers’ three touchdowns through the air this season. He has also turned six carries into 53 yards and a score, so expect Auburn coaches to keep him in the mix moving forward.
