One of Auburn’s fastest players is recovering from surgery today and already looking to get back on the field with his teammates.

Auburn WR Anthony Schwartz injured his hand in a recent practice, and tweeted that the surgery was a success and he thanked supporters for all “y’all thoughts and prayers.”

Schwartz, a notable sprinter in high school, missed the Tigers’ spring practice in order to focus on track.

He was fourth on the team in receiving last season with 22 catches for 357 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Pembroke Pines, Florida native combined for 568 yards from scrimmage (11.6 yards per touch on 27 carries and 22 receptions) and scored seven touchdowns in 2018 (5 rushing, 2 receiving) after he played in all 13 games.

It’s unclear how much time Schwartz will miss.
