Reese Dismukes won the Rimington Trophy on Thursday night, awarded to the nation’s top center.

The winner was determined from a consensus of the Walter Camp Foundation, Sporting News and Football Writers Association of America All-American teams.

Dismukes will make the 50th start of his Auburn career in the Outback Bowl when the Tigers take on Wisconsin. Only one Auburn center has made more starts.

“This will get your picture on Jordan-Hare Stadium,” said offensive line coach J.B. Grimes in a statement released by the school. “This award means you’re being singled out as maybe one of the best players in the history of the game.”

In addition to Thursday’s honor, Dismukes has also earned All-American and All-SEC honors this season.

“I can’t thank my coaches and teammates enough for allowing me to be successful, but also for them to be successful as well,” Dismukes said. “That’s putting in the work together in the offensive line. I couldn’t play to the best of my ability without the guy next to me. This isn’t just for me. It’s for all five of us and Coach Grimes as well.”

Dismukes is also up for the Outland Trophy, given to the nation’s top interior lineman, at The Home Depot College Football Awards.
