Bryan Harsin understands that developing a quarterback in a new system is not an overnight sensation. So when Bo Nix shows off improved play at Arkansas and at LSU, Auburn fans and media sit up and take notice.

Harsin has seen it coming for a while, and explained it on the SEC coaches media teleconference on Wednesday.

“I think he’s, one, understands what we’re trying to do, which takes time,” Harsin said. “That’s not his fault by any means; it just takes time. I think he’s fundamentally improved himself from the spring and to where he is now … All those things that, at that position, you need to develop. It’s just a constant focus on all those things each week … He’s always put in the time.”

Nix completed 80 percent of his passes against Arkansas, and for the season, has completed 59 percent of his passes for 10 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. He’s thrown for 1,763 yards.
