After a heartbreaking, emotionally-draining loss, it’s never easy for players to face the media. Bryce Brown and Jared Harper accompanied Auburn coach Bruce Pearl to the postgame press conference. It comes as no surprise that reporters wanted to know their reaction to the foul call with 0.6 seconds left, allowing Virginia to take the final lead of the game on three free throws.

“I just didn’t think it was a foul, but the refs thought otherwise,” Brown said. “Can’t go back and rewind it so…”

Harper did not see the call as the game’s deciding factor.

“I would just say that I think it was a tough call, but that’s not where we lost the game, I don’t think,” Harped said.

Brown further elaborated on the heartbreak of feeling like the game was over only to realize a foul had been called.

“We kind of thought we had it sealed,” Brown said. “I mean, it just came down to that last possession. It’s not where we lost the game, like Jared said, but it was a significant part where I just didn’t agree with the call. Can’t say too much about that.”
