Cam Newton hasn’t been in an NFL game this season after the New England Patriots let him go before Week 1.
He’s been looking for a new squad ever since, and it seems he could soon head back to a familiar place.
Per reporter Jonathan M. Alexander, the Carolina Panthers are meeting with Newton in the near future:

Newton, of course, was the No. 1 overall pick by the Carolina Panthers in the 2011 NFL Draft. He won the NFL’s MVP award in 2015.
The Panthers are dealing with an injury to starting QB Sam Darnold, which could keep him out for 4-6 weeks. In the meantime, PJ Walker and Matt Barkley are the other QBs on the Panthers’ roster.
Will Newton soon head back to the team that drafted him?
