Wes Byrum, a true freshman, was getting ready to line up for a game-winning field goal attempt in The Swamp in 2007 and help Auburn pull off a big upset against Tim Tebow and the fourth-ranked Florida Gators.

The Florida student section, of course, was making a lot of noise and trying to distract Byrum in every way possible. As he told Auburn Undercover in a lengthy profile by Mark Murphy (a fun read for Auburn fans):

Byrum admits that sometimes it gets a “little fuzzy” when trying to remember exactly what happened at the end of that 2007 game, but he vividly remembers the Florida students flashing him by pulling off their tops and bras in attempt to mess with his focus.

“I absolutely do remember that,” he says with a laugh. “The students were very, very close to where I was warming up. I guess you could say they were pulling out all of the stops to get our attention away from warming up.”

From 43 yards out, Byrum actually made the kick twice, as Gators coach Urban Meyer had called time out right before the ball was snapped the first time in an attempt to ice the freshman. It didn’t work, and with the victory in hand, Byrum went running down the field doing the famous Gator Chomp in celebration.
