One of Auburn’s favorite sons will be returning to the Plains this fall as Jason Campbell has officially been added to the roster for the Tiger Tailgate pregame show. The Auburn Sports Network announced the move Friday.
The program begins three hours before every game and is co-hosted by Paul Ellen and Andy Burcham. Auburn regulars Rod Bramblett, Stan White, Ronnie Brown and Brad Law will also be featured this year with Campbell.
Following the announcement, Campbell issued the following statement, which was posted on the team’s website:
“This is such a great opportunity to join the Auburn Sports Network, where I already feel part of the team. When I finished my football career, they welcomed me into the broadcasts, on signing day and with the spring game. I feel comfortable with those guys and we have a lot of fun. I’m glad to be back on campus with the Auburn Family.”
In Campbell’s final season at Auburn, in 2004, the team went undefeated. The 12-0 season was capped by a 16-13 win over Virginia Tech in the Sugar Bowl. Despite winning the SEC title, Auburn did not get an opportunity to play in the BCS National Championship Game, as USC and Oklahoma were also both undefeated heading into the bowl season.
Excited to be back on the plains for Saturday game days talking about Auburn to the Auburn Family!!!
