Gus Malzahn has plucked a former Auburn staffer for his re-tooled staff at UCF.

Malzahn announced in a post on social media that he and the Knights would hire Trovon Reed to serve as UCF’s cornerbacks coach. Reed returned to his alma mater in 2021 as Auburn’s player relations coordinator and was later elevated to director of football and recruiting relations in 2022. Reed played at Auburn from 2010-14.

Auburn coach Hugh Freeze also wished Reed well in a follow-up post. “Congrats (Trovon Reed). Go be great,” he wrote.
