Auburn is three days into fall camp now, and Gus Malzahn is getting to know his roster better.

Following Sunday’s practice, Malzahn mentioned two newcomers  who have caught his eye, per Josh Vitale: WR Anthony Schwartz and RB Shaun Shivers.

Schwartz is probably the least surprising because of his incredible speed. The Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, native is one of the fastest people in college athletics — maybe the fastest, as the talented WR set the World Youth Record with 10.15-second 100-meter dash. Malzahn will need to find ways to get Schwartz the ball in the open field.

Crazy enough, Shivers was another South Florida track star, and Shivers being committed to Auburn helped the Tigers land Schwartz. Shivers stands at just 5-foot-7 and 175 pounds, but he, too, possesses elite speed. He ran a 10.4-second 100-meter dash.

Malzahn’s offense is potent, but when you add top tier track speed to it, look out.
