The spring hits keep coming for Auburn.

A few days after it was reported that receiver Will Hastings suffered a knee injury, 247sports’ Brandon Marcello reported that Hastings did indeed tear his ACL and undergo surgery.

AL.com had already reported that Hastings, who suffered the knee injury in practice last week, might miss the entire 2018 season. Now, that looks like a certainty.

Marcello reported that the injury happened during Auburn’s spring scrimmage last Saturday. Hastings was the second Auburn receiver to suffer a torn ACL. Eli Stove kicked off spring practice with the same injury.

That’s a tough loss for a once-promising group of wideouts. The former kicker emerged as one of Jarrett Stidham’s key targets in 2017 with 26 catches for 525 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Without Hastings and Stove, Auburn’s depth will certainly take a hit. The Tigers still have Ryan Davis, Darius Slayton and Nate Craig-Myers, but the margin for error got that much smaller.

Auburn’s spring game is set for Saturday, April 7.
