Auburn is hosting one of its biggest recruiting weekends of the year this weekend, with a slew of elite prospects on campus for its Big Cat recruiting event. On Saturday evening, they scored their first commitment of the camp, with four-star receiver Eli Stove pledging to play for Gus Malzahn and the Tigers, and the Tigers head coach is pumped about it.

The Niceville, Fla. native told 247sports of his commitment on Saturday. A 6-foot-1, 178-pound receiver, Stove is ranked as the No. 7 player at his position in the nation, per the 247sports industry composite.

Stove’s commitment softens the blow of five-star receiver Nate Craig-Meyer’s decommitment a few weeks ago. Stove is now the lone receiver in Auburn’s recruiting class, but the Tigers will almost surely look to add a few more. Auburn has seven total commitments now, with Stove the highest-rated among them. One of those commitments, four-star athlete Stephen Davis Jr., is unsure of his commitment.
