Few thought Liberty would come in and top Arkansas on Saturday, but that is precisely what the flames did, taking down the Razorbacks 21-19 on the road.

Something like that only adds to the rumor mill in regard to who is going to assume the Auburn head coach position after the program recently parted ways with Bryan Harsin. Current Flames head coach Hugh Freeze is among those who has had his name in the mix.

Freeze was asked about any potential connection to Auburn following his upset victory over the SEC opponent.

“I don’t know that Auburn wants me. I have no clue,” Freeze told 247Sports. “I know this: I have won everywhere I’ve been and my staff and kids have turned programs fast. It’s our culture that we instill. I know we do that and the proof is in the pudding.”

Regardless of what happens, it’s clear that Freeze has confidence in himself regardless of where he ends up and he’s proven that he can pull off wins with teams not favored to do so — Saturday was the case in point.

For now, Freeze and the Flames are set to take on the Connecticut Huskies on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 11 a.m. CT.
