If you were to ask Noah Igbinoghene about the future of Alabama’s program, the former Auburn defensive back believes the Crimson Tide’s time at the top of the SEC is over.

In fact, the former Tiger standout believes the Crimson Tide are no longer even the top program from the state of Alabama.

During his media availability at the 2020 NFL Combine, Igbinoghene shared his opinion on the state of the Iron Bowl rivalry after his Auburn team beat Alabama 48-45 on The Plains last season.

“I feel like Auburn has come around as the best in that state,” Igbinoghene said according to Mike Rodak of AL.com. “So I really feel like the next couple years we’re gonna show that. Recruiting, everything. The coaches are winning. So I’ll see. We’ll all see.”

That’s bold talk but at least Igbinoghene and his Auburn teammates have been able to back up that level of boasting in recent years as Auburn has gone 2-1 over Alabama in recent seasons. While the Crimson Tide did beat the Tigers 52-21 in 2018, Auburn won 26-14 in Jordan-Hare back in 2017.
