When Jarrett Stidham is under pressure, look for Ryan Davis and get ready to make a catch.

That’s because, more often than not, the Auburn quarterback looks for Davis in short-yardage plays and behind the line of scrimmage. In those three scenarios — under pressure, less than 10 yards and behind the line of scrimmage — Stidham has targeted Davis 68 times this season, according to an analysis by CFB Film Room. That’s why Davis leads the Tigers in receiving — by a wide margin — with 58 catches, 32 more than the next closest teammate.

Overall, Stidham is third in the SEC with 222 yards passing per game as he’s completed nearly 68 percent of his passes.

If not for Davis, Stidham prefers Darius Slayton in a lot of areas, especially down the field, with a team-high 17 targets of more than 20 yards.

And while Davis is a consistent target, Kerryon Johnson is the most reliable connection when Stidham is under pressure as they’re 5-for-5 on targets.
