Oops: Auburn basketball pledge says 'Go Eagles' in commitment announcement
Bruce Pearl’s Auburn basketball program got some great news on Sunday: 4-star power forward JT Thor will play on the Plains. While Thor is committed to AU, he isn’t quite down on the deal with the team name.
Thor announced his commitment decision in a video call with Evan Daniels of 247Sports. After putting on the Auburn hat, Thor said, “Go Eagles!”

It’s certainly understandable that a newcomer might get mixed up by fans of the Tigers regularly saying”War Eagle!” Rival fans, however, were quick to have some fun with the mixup.
Especially when they sweep Alabama 😂😭

Most say “University of Auburn”. He’ll fit in well there.

At least some Tigers fans didn’t seem to mind:
He call call us turkey buzzards if he wants. #WarEagle

What’s wrong with that? War Eagle. Stop hating

Per the 247Sports Composite, Thor is the No. 8 power forward in the 2020 class and the No. 4 overall prospect from the state of Georgia. The Tigers now have 4 players in their 2020 recruiting class, which currently ranks No. 8 in the country and No. 5 in the SEC, per the Composite.
Thor has plenty of time to understand the usage of Tigers, Eagles and Plainsmen before the 2020-21 season tips off.
