Perry Thompson made a decision on Saturday that will most definitely anger Alabama fans. The 2024 wideout flipped to a rival SEC school.

Thompson was committed to the Crimson Tide before Saturday, but that changed. Thompson decided to change his commitment to Hugh Freeze and Auburn, as the move was announced via Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports.

Thompson is listed as a 5-star WR on 247Sports. He is a native of Foley, Alabama and attends Foley High School. The 247Sports Composite ranks him as the No. 8 WR and No. 4 player in the state.

Freeze now has his first 5-star commit in his 2024 class after Thompson’s flip.

Before Thompson’s commitment, the Tigers had just one WR commit in Bryce Cain. Cain is a 3-star commit out of Mobile, Alabama.

Other SEC programs who showed interest in Thompson were Tennessee, Florida, and Georgia.

Something must have changed for Thompson after visiting with Auburn on Jun. 16.

Before stepping foot on the football field, Freeze is doing well on the recruiting trail. Freeze comes to Auburn after spending the last couple of seasons coaching at Liberty.

While the 2024 class is looking good for Freeze at Auburn, fans will have to wait before they step foot on campus.
