The Auburn Tigers again were not all that crisp in its 45-17 win over the Bulldogs of Louisiana Tech on Saturday at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Corrections abound for the Tigers as it now turns its attention to No. 17 LSU who visits Auburn next weekend.

Here are a couple of thoughts on the game:

What it means: Auburn moves to 4-0 as it now faces seven ranked opponents in its final nine games. Auburn’s last two wins have come in performances in which it wasn’t at its best, something which head coach Gus Malzahn said did not concern him this week. But now the competition gets better, and Auburn will need its best effort week in and week out.

What I liked: The Tigers did the things it needed to do to win. It wasn’t crisp, but Auburn did not beat itself and forced Louisiana Tech to make mistakes. Nick Marshall returned to form in the running game rushing for 105 yards, as did Cameron Artis-Payne who led the Tigers with 116 yards on the ground.

Who’s the man: Quan Bray. The senior had the game of his life catching two touchdown passes on 91 yards receiving and returning a punt 76 yards for a touchdown. Bray has stepped up his game on special teams this season. He’s averaging nearly 40 yards per punt return.

Key play: The interception by Montravius Adams in the first quarter. Auburn was held scoreless on its first two drives, then on the ensuing LA Tech drive linebacker Kris Frost tipped the Cody Sokol pass which fell into Adams’ hands. He returned it down to the Auburn 5-yard line to set up the Tigers’ first touchdown.
