Report: Auburn coordinator not expected to return to staff, other Power 5 gig possible
There have been rumors of staff shakeups at Auburn for weeks now, starting at head coach with Gus Malzahn and going down to the coordinators.
On Monday, it was reported by AL.com that OC Chip Lindsey is not expected to return to Malzahn’s staff.
However, he could quickly land another job, per the report, as Kansas and Tennessee are in play:
Kansas has been mentioned as a possible landing spot for Lindsey, who would join Les Miles’ new staff. He has also reportedly interviewed for the Tennessee OC job along with former Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze.
College football insider Bruce Feldman added to the mix, saying Lindsey is a favorite to end up at Kansas on Les Miles’ new coaching staff:
Hearing that Chip Lindsey is in discussions to become the new Offensive Coordinator at #Kansas. Would be a big get for Les Miles. Lindsey developer Nick Mullens for Southern Miss & put up huge numbers there.

Nothing is official yet, but it’s clear changes are coming to Auburn. Lindsey apparently is trying to get ahead of them and land in a more stable situation.
