Five-star DE Byron Cowart sent shockwaves around the Southeast when he committed to Auburn over Florida on National Signing Day.
Cowart chose the Auburn Tigers at 9:00 a.m. ET on ESPNU. An initial report by Josh Newberg of 247Sports was that Cowart signed two different LOIs, one to Auburn and one to Florida.

Rivals.com senior analyst Mike Farrell tweeted that he spoke with Cowart after his public commitment, and Farrell said Cowart told him he faxed his LOI in.

Meanwhile, Auburn hasn’t confirmed receiving Cowart’s LOI, and Big County Preps confirmed that.

Furthermore, Ryan of GatorGangRecruiting.com said he spoke with Cowart, and Cowart confirmed that he has not sent in his LOI yet.

Rivals.com’s Mike Farrell updated the situation and said he recently spoke to Cowart, too.

Per coach Callahan at Armwood, Byron Cowart told him he was going to commit to #Auburn but not send in letter.
