After failing to gain permission to transfer to a school of his choosing, which may have been another Southeastern Conference program or Ohio State, former Auburn defensive lineman Antwuan Jackson has reportedly signed with a junior college program.

A former U.S. Army All-American selection and one of the nation’s Top 50 players coming out of high school in 2016, Jackson signed with Auburn over offers from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee, Clemson, Florida State, and Ohio State among others. Auburn announced Jackson’s decision to leave the program in May.

Head coach Gus Malzahn apparently held no animosity toward Jackson’s decision, saying he “wished him well” after announcing his departure. Those well wishes apparently didn’t include letting Jackson attend Ohio State or South Carolina — where his brother Bryson Allen-Williams is on the roster. Soon after he left the program, Jackson was restricted from attending any SEC program or Ohio State — despite the Buckeyes not being a future opponent of the Tigers.

Jackson took to social media two weeks ago to voice his displeasure with the school’s decision.

With several of his options limited, Jackson has now chosen to enroll at Blinn Community College out of Texas, according to JC Shurburtt of the Big Spur. If he so chooses, Jackson will have the opportunity to return to any Power 5 school after spending the 2017 season at Blinn. Jackson still has four years of eligibility remaining, although at least one year will be used up at the JUCO ranks according to this report.

Despite taking an unusual route, Jackson appears eager to begin the next phase of his college career. Check out what he posted on Twitter Monday morning.
