Once the bowl matchups were released, Oklahoma has been considered a prohibitive favorite in the Sugar Bowl versus Auburn.

The Sooners opened as a 4.5-point favorite — and have seen it grow to as high as six. Odds Sharks currently has the line standing at -5.5. However, there’s been some recent movement with less than two hours until kickoff.

According to SportsLine, many professional betters have been throwing tons of cash on Auburn. Most sports books now have Oklahoma as only a 2-point favorite.

Top bookmaker Nick Bogdanovich had this to say on the contest:

“The sharps are all over Auburn. We’ve had some five-figure bets on Auburn, but there’s plenty on the other side too because the public is all over Oklahoma. It’s a two-way game.”

There is one trend favoring the Tigers in this contest. Auburn is 4-1 against the spread in its last five bowl games. It’s also 5-0 against the spread in its last five outside the SEC.

On the other side of the coin, Oklahoma is 0-5 against the spread in its last five outside contests outside of Big 12 play. OU under head coach Bob Stoops is also 3-7 against the spread in his last 10 bowl games.
