Former Auburn QB Cam Newton is looking for a new NFL home after spending nine seasons with the Carolina Panthers.

Whether Newton “asked” or was “forced” into the situation, it’s clear that the former MVP will be playing elsehwere in 2020. FanDuel’s online sportsbook recently posted betting odds for Newton’s next team. As of Saturday evening, the Washington Redskins are clear favorites at -105 (wager $105 to win $100). The Miami Dolphins come in at No. 2 at +230 (wager $100 to win $230) followed by the New England Patriots at +400. Check out a screenshot of the full betting odds below:

If Newton were to go to Washington, he would be reuniting with his former head coach, Ron Rivera. While the Redskins selected former Ohio State QB Dwayne Haskins with the No. 15 overall pick in last year’s draft, Rivera has appeared to be open to bringing in a new quarterback, having discussed the possibility of drafting Joe Burrow or Tua Tagovailoa with the No. 2-overall pick at last month’s NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. Trading away a top-15 pick after one season is not unprecedented, especially when there is a coaching change. The Arizona Cardinals selected former UCLA QB Josh Rosen at No. 10 in 2018. After hiring Kliff Kingsbury, the Cardinals drafted Kyler Murray at No. 1 overall in 2019 and traded Rosen to the Miami Dolphins.

Speaking of the Dolphins, they are another team looking for a quarterback and, like Washington, have a high pick (No. 5) in the upcoming draft.

Cam Watch figures to entertain both Auburn and NFL fans in isolation/quarantine.
