Auburn’s 2021 recruiting class just picked up a commitment from an intriguing prospect as Florida native Tar’varish Dawson announced his pledge to join Gus Malzahn’s program on Friday.

“First and foremost, I would like to thank God for all the great things he done for me and the gift he gave to me to play the sport I love today,” Dawson posted. “I would like to thank my parents for raising me as the man I am today. I am extremely blessed to have multiple opportunities to play D1 football in college.

“I’m thankful for the great family and friends I have to keep me on track and help me reach my dreams. I want to give a special shoutout to my coaches for being hard on me and pushing me to be the best student and player I can be. With that being said, I would like to say I’m 1000% committed to Auburn University.”

The Lehigh Senior High School standout is currently rated as a three-star prospect, the No. 28 athlete in the nation and the No. 356 overall prospect in the country for the 2021 recruiting cycle by 247Sports Composite Rankings. Considering his ranking, Dawson is just on the outside of being ranked as a four-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting cycle.

The Lehigh Acres, Fla., native plays all over the field for Lehigh, as he has spent time at defensive back, receiver, quarterback and running back during his high school career.
