Wendell Green Jr. and the Auburn Tigers picked up a huge win over Tennessee to close out the regular season on Saturday, solidifying their NCAA Tournament résumé.

However, as the No. 7 seed in the upcoming SEC Tournament, the Tigers would like to pick up at least 1 win to impress the Selection Committee.

The Tigers will play No. 10 seed Arkansas on Thursday in Nashville, and there certainly isn’t any love lost between the 2 programs, according to Green:

How much do Arkansas fans not like Green? Well, the Auburn guard thinks the Hog faithful actually hate him more than Alabama fans (though perhaps Crimson Tide supporters would disagree):

When Auburn hosted Arkansas on Jan. 7 of this year (a 72-59 win for the Tigers), Green finished the game with 19 points, 5 assists and 3 rebounds.

What’s at stake on Thursday

When Auburn and Arkansas square off in Nashville in a second-round matchup on Thursday (7 p.m. ET on SEC Network), it has the potential to be the game of the tournament.

The Razorbacks desperately need to win to get into the NCAA Tournament. They’re riding a 3-game losing streak entering Nashville. As previously mentioned, the Tigers would also like a victory to make sure they don’t fall victim to bid stealers this week.

If Green can match or exceed his performance from January, it’ll bode well for the Tigers. But you can bet Eric Musselman will try to make sure he has a game plan in place so that doesn’t happen.
