C. W. Taylor served as head football coach at Texas A&M for one season, leading the team to a 1-2 record in 1897. A&M lost its two games by final scores of 10-0 and 30-6, respectively, and won its only game over Austin College by a final score of 4-0.
A former newspaper reporter who has roamed the southeastern United States for years covering football and eating way too many barbecue ribs, if there is such a thing.
