Johnny Floyd spent one year as the football coach at Auburn University, going 0-4 in 1929 before moving on to coach The Citadel. Floyd took over in 1929 for George Bohler, who coached the Tigers to a 2-3 start before leaving the school. He passed away in 1965 at the age of 72.
A former newspaper reporter who has roamed the southeastern United States for years covering football and eating way too many barbecue ribs, if there is such a thing.
