A respected defensive guru with more than two decades of coaching experience, Snyder landed at Texas A&M in 2012 as Kevin Sumlin’s new defensive coordinator in prep for the Aggies’ first season in the SEC. A Jim Tressel disciple, Snyder worked with the former Buckeyes head coach at Ohio State and Youngstown State where he mastered the intricacies associated with the linebacker position.
Snyder led his alma-mater, Marshall University, as head coach from 2005-09 before becoming South Florida’s defensive coordinator for two seasons. Prior to rejoining forces with Tressel at Ohio State in 2001, Snyder coached the defensive line at Minnesota from 1997-2000.
The transition to the SEC has been challenging thus far for Texas A&M’s defense, but Snyder’s unit is loaded with high-profile players capable of a bright future in College Station.
