Kel’el Ware was a 5-star prospect coming out of high school in the 2022 recruiting class. After one year at Oregon, he’s in the transfer portal and looking at his options.
According to Joe Tipton with On3 Sports, Ware is hearing from a strong group of programs, including a long list of interested SEC teams. Auburn, Arkansas, Missouri, LSU, Texas A&M and Ole Miss are SEC teams to contact Ware per Tipton.
Duke, Gonzaga, Memphis, Texas, Kansas State, Illinois, Florida State, Oklahoma State, SMU and TCU are also in contact.

As a freshman for the Ducks, Ware appeared in 35 games (4 starts) and averaged 15.8 minutes per game. He also averaged 6.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.3 blocks for Oregon while shooting 46% from the field.
Coming out of North Little Rock High School in Arkansas, the 7-footer was a 5-star recruit and the No. 7 player nationally per the 247 Sports Composite Rankings. He was also the 2nd player out of Arkansas for the 2022 recruiting class.
Will his background in Arkansas give SEC teams a leg up in the transfer process? We’ll find out down the road.
