Did you know Georgia reached the Final Four before bitter rival Florida did?

Shortly after Herschel Walker was the top Dawg of college football, Georgia’s basketball team made its first Final Four in 1983. That team, led by future NBA standout Vern Fleming, lost to eventual champion NC State. (Florida didn’t even make the NCAA Tournament until 1987.)

The Dawgs also have won the SEC Tournament twice, captured the regular-season title twice and produced two SEC Player of the Year winners. That doesn’t even include Hall of Famer Dominique Wilkins or current NBA All-Star Anthony Edwards.
