DJ Uiagalelei does not look to be returning to Oregon State for the 2024 season.

Matt Zenitz of 247Sports reports that Uiagalelei is set to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal. Uiagalelei appears to be in the early stages of exploring his options, as Zenitz reports the quarterback has not ruled out entering the 2024 NFL Draft.

After 3 seasons at Clemson, Uiagalelei transferred to Oregon State. At OSU, Uiagalelei was 180-of-315 passing (57.1% complete) for 2,638 yards, 21 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. He also rushed 68 times for 219 yards and 6 scores.

OSU went 8-4 in the 2023 season. Ahead of the Beavers’ bowl assignment, Jonathan Smith departed to take the Michigan State head coaching job. Oregon State has promoted defensive coordinator Trent Bray to head coach.

Uiagalelei was with the Tigers from 2020-22. He completed 515-of-861 passes (59.8%) for 5,681 yards with 36 touchdowns and 17 interceptions in 1,913 snaps over 36 games (28 starts). He also recorded 275 career carries for 913 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Uiagalelei was 22-6 as a starter, but Dabo Swinney’s squad was moving on to Clade Klubnik. A 13-game starter in 2022, Uiagalelei completed 229-of-370 passes for 2,521 and 22 touchdowns in 816 snaps.

As a recruit, Uiagalelei was rated 5-stars and the No. 10 overall prospect in the 2020 class. He has played in 47 games over 4 seasons but is eligible for a 5th season under the NCAA’s COVID-19 waiver as a 2020 participant.
