Lee Corso catching heat for Playoff comments on College GameDay
By Sydney Hunte

Lee Corso has made it crystal clear that the Cincinnati Bearcats don’t belong in the College Football Playoff.
The Bearcats are currently 10-0 and ranked No. 5 in the Playoff rankings. They host SMU on Saturday before traveling to East Carolina on Nov. 27, with a win against the Mustangs clinching their place in the AAC Championship Game against Houston. Bearcats fans and the rest of the country, though, are well aware that a loss will eliminate Luke Fickell’s team from Playoff contention.
Corso feels that they shouldn’t even be in Playoff contention in the first place, though.
“Cincinnati does not belong ranked in the top group. I don’t care if they win out or not,” he said on Saturday. “They’ve played 2 Power 5 teams. One of them is Indiana with a 2-8 record. Cincinnati should accept a New Year’s Day bowl, period.”
Corso’s comments understandably drew the ire of fans across the country. Here’s some of the reaction from social media as Corso was called out for his thoughts:
Lee Corso just said Notre Dame deserves the CFP over Cincinnati. You can’t make this up.

Lee Corso going full boomer as usual on college game day… “undefeated Cincinnati should never be ahead of a one-loss power 5 team” smh

Lee Corso has lost his damn mind saying an Undefeated Cincinnati team should be left out of the 4 team playoff for a 1 loss Notre Dame team, that THEY beat by 11?! pic.twitter.com/1SHeBHCdtu

Get Lee Corso out of there. What a clown. He's off his rocker.
Completely dissing Cincinnati SIMPLY BECAUSE it is not "Power 5". And people wonder why so many of us are clamoring for an expanded playoff?
Any expanded playoff MUST INCLUDE (at minimum) a spot for the Group of 5.

Someone please explain to Lee Corso that the reason that Cincinnati hasn’t played as many “power 5” opponents is because they’re not in a “power 5” conference.
Clearly they need more teams like Duke, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, and Kansas on their schedule.
