On Tuesday, Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence and his girlfriend started a GoFundMe page to raise money for organizations assisting people in need during the coronavirus outbreak.

Of course, the page was quickly shut down due to NCAA rules, drawing wide criticism of the NCAA.

However, per Pete Thamel of Yahoo, the NCAA has reached out to Clemson and will reportedly allow universities to have the discretion on deciding whether athletes can help support the community or not:

This seems like a no-brainer, and like something that the NCAA should have announced at the start of the outbreak.

However, as the old saying goes, better late than never. Let’s hope Trevor Lawrence is allowed to help those in need from now on.
