Speedy Noil won’t play in the team’s season opener against UCLA.
Head coach Kevin Sumlin confirmed on Thursday that the Texas A&M junior receiver is suspended for the game against the Bruins in College Station on Sept. 3.
The 5-foot-11, 192-pounder was suspended for a violation of team rules and missed the team’s Music City Bowl against Louisville last season, but it wasn’t clear at the time how long the suspension would be for.
Noil was an honorable mention on the 2014 All-SEC Team, but he struggled with injuries and off-the-field issues in his sophomore season. He appeared in nine games for the Aggies in 2015, finishing 4th on the team in receiving yards (226) off 21 catches with 2 TDs.
