Well done, sir!!! Take a bow!!!
Not sure how Benito Jones is not on this list...
This is what happens when your OL coach leaves for Cincinnati....
Chad Kelly should be on this list above Barrett and Zaire....
Treadwell didn't win the Biletnikoff....how much thought goes into these articles?
You called a guy out with your first sentence and banged your chest over being ranked number two in explosive plays given up. The four offensive units you have played against are mostly terrible. I take no joy in any of this. I just do not like seeing someone throw numbers and rankings around without pausing to look at what goes into them. Had State played UGA, Ohio State, TCU, and Baylor and was number 2 in explosive plays allowed then I would christen Manny Diaz as the greatest DC in the history of college football. Using the number two ranking as a reason why you will win in College Station is ludicrous. No diatribe here, boss. The way your post came across to me was belittling to the writer you questioned. My apologies if I came off like a troll.
Well...uhhh.... yall are 5th and have played.....who? Oh yeah.... Southern Miss who completed 68% and averaged 10.3 yards per completion; LSU who threw the ball a whopping 14 times; Don't forget about Northwestern State who threw the ball all of 16 times; also, Auburn started a RS Freshman QB in his first action EVER and he only threw 28 passes. Mississippi State has seen 102 in game passes from about 6 QBs. Kyle Allen has thrown 98 by himself in the Aggie's first four games. You have played against teams that average below 3 explosive pass plays per game all year. If you want to quote stats and belittle somebody, at least be intelligent. Other wise it is WAY too easy for others (me) to correct your stupidity.
MOState....did you really just call the number one over all pick in that years draft not great. He won 10 games by himself. Go back and look at that roster. T-E-R-R-I-B-L-E!!!! Eli was the whole team. Without him, Ole Miss may have won 4 games in 03. Don't be ridiculous.
Coozie that Red Zone Defense is completely irrelevant if they are hitting explosive plays (plays for more than 20 yards) with what is probably the best receiving core in the country. You can be as stout as you want to be inside the 20's but ATM makes their money between the 25's. Key for State is to force the Aggies to run the ball and hope like heck that Chris Jones remembers that he is 6'6" and 310lbs and plays like it.
I disagree completely with this. Ole Miss is the better choice for LSU's rival. If you could ever get the game on Halloween night again, whew wee what a night that would be. Billy Cannon made this a rivalry in 1959. Which game did LSU rush the field on? Magnolia Bowl is bigger than the Boot!! Sorry bro.
They have definitely improved week to week. LSU's pass defense is just REALLY good. If we can make Arkansas have to throw it to get back in it then we will have a better shot. There is a reason the line is only at 2. Going to be a another great game in a storied series!
The most ideal situation would be to move to 6 teams. Number 1 and 2 get a bi week. This allows for all 5 Power 5 Champs to get in and then one at large bid OR you could take the top 6 as selected by the committee OR you could take the committee completely out, use the BCS rankings like always and keep the 6 teams format. It only factors in 2 more games and only one more weekend of games. This method also rewards the top two ranked teams and makes the other 4 "earn it." The problem with conference champs automatically getting in is this....what IF....Ohio State loses the B1G to Wisconsin.... The Badgers are currently ranked 16. Do they jump all those other teams who missed out on playing for their division because of one loss? (Mississippi State is the best example here should they and Bama win out) or better yet, what if Georgia Tech somehow were to beat FSU in the title game? Does a number 18 GT get in over a one loss FSU? There is no way to make "the most people" happy. Any changes you make will be loved by some and hated by others. It will never be enough. Human beings are incapable of being totally impartial on anything. There is ALWAYS some form of a human element no matter how hard you try to eliminate it. Using computers is the only way to be impartial.
Another interesting thing to consider is Arkansas ability to stop the pass. LSU's pass defense is pretty dang good. Arkansas'....not quite on the same level as LSU. As long as the Rebels can move the ball at will, I won't be worried about stopping the run as much. However, if our offense is completely out of sync, we may be in for a long day.
The only reason that they are ranked ahead of State is because the committee already said they would factor in injuries at the time of the loss. Oregon's Left Tackle was out for their loss and since he returned they have dominated. I agree with you that they should be ranked below you, however, the fact the committee looks at the injury thing and the fact that the loss was a lot earlier in the year helps them because they have had time to regain momentum in the rankings. I cannot wait to watch them get KILLED in the playoff.
This is the risk you take when going to a rivalry game on the road. My brother plays for Ole Miss and last year during his redshirt year, he and I attended the Egg Bowl in Starkville. He has long hair and all the drunk idiots kept harassing him calling him "Blow Wallace" and the like. I have heard Mississippi State fans talk about how badly they were treated in Oxford. If you do not like the way drunk fans act, buy your tickets through your school's ticket office so that you can sit among fans from your school. Also, just be smarter. You have ZERO control over how other people act, but you do have total control over the situations you put yourself in. If you choose to go to a bar in your rival's town prior to the night of the game, you are going to get messed with. That being said, you cannot blame an entire university for how certain fans act. When Auburn beat Ole Miss this year, there were TONS of AU fans who acted like complete idiots and how many letters have you seen from Ole Miss fans. Also, when we lost on the road to LSU, how many letters did we write about how bad the Cajun Corndogs acted? None. You take it and realize that you put yourself in position for people with no decency to act any way they want. I applaud the UGA fan who responded to this. Good on you sir.
