[1] It would be nice to see Florida vs. Cincinnati, but the Gators haven't played an AAC team since 2015. The AAC's Athletic Director has said he has difficulty getting the SEC to agree to matchups. [2] Does Cincinnati deserve to be ranked ahead of Florida right now? YES!! In fact, Cincinnati IS in both the AP Poll and the Coaches Poll (Cin.#6/Flo.#11). It's only the CFP Committee (which includes Florida's A.D.) that thinks the Gators are so much better than the Bearcats. [3] "Soft schedules"? In 2018 and 2019, FLORIDA padded its records by whupping on Tennessee-Martin, Towson, Charleston Southern and Idaho: all of whom are in the sub-division F.C.S.!! Those teams are softer than kittens' fur and cotton balls. [4] Please read the excellent article on 12/15/20 by Sports Illustrated's Pat Forde titled: "Selection Committee Doubles Down on Favoritism in Penultimate Rankings". He goes into specific detail about why Florida's and Cincinnati's respective rankings by the CFP are in Forde's words: "A bad joke." [5] Well, if the Bearcats are not invited to be one of college football's Final Four, I'll hope to see a Gator Bowl or Orange Bowl matchup on January 2nd of Cincinnati vs. Florida, and may the best team win!
