I normally think Andrew is an OK writer, but this article (and especially title) is WAY OFF THE MARK. For anyone who watched the entire game, they could see that Jack Miller had zero time, was scrambling for his life, etc. The RB's ran into a wall just about every time as the OL could not run block or pass protect. I generally like Coach Napier's demeanor but I hope he came unhinged a little bit in the locker room. The O-line performance was really sub par and the play calling looked like it has all year ... not sophisticated enough. I would love to give him a couple of seasons to figure it out but not at his current salary and support structure salary. Don't get me wrong, I want to give him time to build a program but no way in hell the Gators cupboard wasn't good enough to beat Vandy this year.

Matt Hayes, why did you fail to leave out the obvious? Mario Cristobal has been a head coach at the D1 level, returned to his alma mater, and made a good hired of Josh Gattis as his OC. OF COURSE he has a leg up in early recruiting battles. Geesh. Billy is implementing a system. The discipline and wins will help with recruiting but we cannot expect him to fix what Mullen messed up in recruiting in a matter of months. At least lay out a fair story ... you owe it to your readers.
@jeromegator96. Respectfully disagree on keeping Mullen. I like him a lot but we are YEARS behind Georgia in recruiting. A good head coach would have recognized this last year and made changes ... he didn't. Unfortunately, he did not live up to the Gator Standard he preached. Again, like him as a person and OC but we need a head coach that can help us be the FIRST choice for in-state 4 and 5 star recruits, lead coaches on both sides of the ball, instill a winning culture, and motivate our players. Napier will be a solid hire. It will be hard for us to be patient, but I agree with you ... we need to give him time (as long as we see progress).
@SwampMusic. I hate to say this but the only coach I can see out there with the moxy of the Headball Coach to take the job, create havoc, recruit well, and win like Spurrier is former (late) UF QB John Reaves' son in law!
Exactly. I am a Tebow fan but that block was pathetic. He was given limited reps, so he needs to shine on everything he does out there. The coaches are looking at the tape. They are probably laughing as hard as we are. He pushes the guy (not a starter), falls over, and has no real effect on the play. I did not see him much ... did anyone see him on special teams at all?
I agree with some of the comments here about what has Hevesy done for us lately. We have a slew of talent at RB this year. If they cannot produce because of his lack of recruiting and coaching up the OL, then it's time to look for someone that can. Our running game this year needs to be legit.
